Edmonton weather: Allow Autumn to reintroduce itself with winds up to 50 km/h

A look at Friday’s Edmonton Weather from Environment Canada.

It’s 10 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 7 km/h winds out of the west southwest.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the actual season, something about the word “Autumnal” is just really fun to say.

It’s also a perfectly cromulent word for this weekend’s weather forecast. Friday, for example, will start with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 20 C, with winds gusting up to 50 km/h by the late morning. Those winds will persist overnight, blowing up to 50 km/h and with a low of 6 C. The winds will die down by Saturday, though there will still be a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 17 C.

Tonight: Clear. Wind west 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low 6 C, 3 C in outlying areas. Risk of frost.

Saturday: Sunny. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud in the morning. High 17 C. UV index 3 or moderate.

Sunrise: 7:30 a.m.

Sunset: 7:18 p.m.
